Nominated for the 2023 Popcorn Award for New Writing at the Edinburgh Fringe, presented by the BBC Writersroom and Popcorn Group for championing fearless new writing for her solo show Involuntary Momslaughter, Abigail Paul is a German-based, US standup comedian, improviser and actress with an irreverent comedy brain. With excellent acting chops and a lifetime of performance experience, Abigail brings her cerebral and confessional comedy style to cities near and far, including the prestigious Laugh Factory in Chicago, USA. Touring all over major European cities, Abigail’s love of languages and cultures endears her to audiences of all backgrounds, as does her hatred of Florida. With extensive training in various comedy disciplines from Second City in Chicago, including standup, improv, musical improv, sketch, writing for TV/film, and storytelling through courses at the renowned Training Center, her act is a high-energy show – full of magnetism and malfunction, with a dash of diva. She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from the University of Central Florida and a Masters in Mass Communications from the University of Leicester.
